We kinda of took turns he would go out and then I. If we got stuck we wanted one of us to be in the clear to pull the other out. Now I know my truck has to have physical limits and for the past few months I have been riding those limits. I know for a fact I have at least one bad ball joint, a busted front end CV boot, a broken rear locker and a failing rear u joint. Funny thing is when in a fun situation like this all that disappears and the excitement of bashing around in the mud and water takes over.

On our travels around the park I actually spent quite a
bit of time pulling other 4x4s out of the muck. I had
several tow straps, one of witch i broke while pulling a
Toyota 4Runner for a very deep water whole. Many of
the people in the part seemed to be first timers. One of
these new comers was a man, his wife and dog. They
were on what looked to some sort of cross country road
trip and a late model Lexus SUV. They had stopped off
in the park to let the dog play in the water. In driving
down close to the waters edge the guy drove down into
one of the more difficult areas to get out of. When
leaving he chose what looked like a medium dept
stream. As it turned out the stream started shallow on
his approach side but got deeper and deeper and
ended in a under water step on the other side. So
basically he drive straight into a 3 foot high under water
ledge. About an hour after getting stuck a guy in a ford
pick up and myself were able to tug the stricken Lexus
out of the water. Unfortunately in that time water had
completely filled the interior of the car (see picture
below). The man was great. Some time later after all
the water had time to drain the Lexus did start and he
was able to limp his way out of the park

Our day ended with one last leap over a dirt and mud
ledge that surrounds the mud are (see picture below).
Now I'm not bragging but a few of the trucks that got
stuck on this were full sized, lifted and packing big tires.
I made it up it several times and Adam once or twice.
Luck? Skill? Call it what you want.
We left the park a little muddy, dusty and feeling a little
triumphant.
