That small intersecting trail dropped us out on 3N16. This is
a major dirt road that connects Green Valley Lake to Big
Bear Lake. We decided to go north and run through a small
offshoot of that road that we had hit once months ago, before
Lance had his new gears and locker installed. The area
turns into a mixture of mid altitude forest and hi desert. Note
that the area was knocked down by fire fairly recently.
Below is the trail we were looking for. Its a hill climb on
the 3N17 White Mountains Trail. Months ago a came
across it while a Large jeep club was busy negotiating
it. I got crap from the club saying that I couldn't do the
hill or the parts of the White Mountain trail in my Non
Jeep 4x4. That pissed me off so this was my chance to
prove them wrong. I hit the hill first and Ill admit I had
some difficulty. For about a month now my rear locking
axle has not been working 100% of the time. To make
thing worse the hill was very sift and the rocks between
the soft earth were wet and slippery. I nearly called it
quits half way up but with Lance hopping around on the
hill side spotting for me I was able to make it all the
way up with relative ease

I was the only one with a camera, so no pics of my
climb. After I made it up I ran down a took a few pics of
lances drive up. The suspension flex his jeep has
made the climb much easier for him.
This  was the end of the really hard parts of the trail. We
were hungry and pretty grungy at this point. We decided
to drive out to Big Bear, get some breakfast and make
the drive back down to the city.
