From the mud pit we continued around the airport. Toward the sound
end of the runway we came across a very dry and soft dirt clearing,
perfect for some tire and drive train abuse.  In the heat of the moment
pictures were at the back of every bodies mind, Let me summarize
the following 20 minutes of fun with a few words, doughnuts,
doughnuts Dodge Ram pickup truck jumping.

Now one would think that a trip around the perimeter of an small
airport would be relatively straight forward, But with lance  heading the
way it turned into a bit of ,

"uhhhh, lets go that way... No, Back up, Back up. Turn around... Uhh
now this way."

Going off of some graded access roads we meandered through
forest for a while and eventually hitting civilization at a mini mall
parking lot.

Now to top the Mu cruise Lance picked a road he had never been up, It
was a road that lead to the highest peak next to central Flag. We
expected mud, snow and ice, and thats exactly what we got. The road
couldn't have been more than a few miles but it was largely shaded by
snow covered trees and had many steep inclines.
Initially it was not that bad. We all had some doubts that the 2X ram
would be able to handle the road. But for the most part it did very well.
Until we hit the thick ice, the kind of ice that doesn't crunch and break
up with the weight of the tires rolling over it.
Here is the first of two or 3 hills the Ram could not get traction on. Pier, lances friend and
room mate, also along for the ride, cheering me on as I slowly slide off to the edge of the
road. Its hard to tell from the shot but this straight away had a good slope to it. I gave a
couple attempts to hook up but it just would go any further than you can see in the next shot.
Lance who was already at the top of the hill had a nice length of static rope. He came back
down the road and we tied the two trucks together and slowly crept up the hill. Like I
mentioned we did this a couple more times before reaching the top.
